Courtney & Jacob – from the Caribbean to the Cotswolds
As an Old Gore by Yardspace wedding photographer, I was so excited to capture Courtney and Jacob’s big day. The couple travelled from their home in the Caribbean to the picturesque Cotswolds where Jacob grew up to say their I dos. It turns out they brought the sunshine with them too! In what has been a surprisingly unpredictable British summer, Courtney and Jacob hit the jackpot on their August wedding day.
Exceptional street food at Old Gore Barn
Established by Yard Space Events, Old Gore Barn is in their own words ‘a charming street-food wedding venue that has channelled a passion for flavour, fire and creative catering’. And they certainly aren’t wrong! Being a professional chef himself, food was always going to be high on the agenda for our groom Jacob – Old Gore Barn by Yardspace was undoubtedly the perfect choice!
It was some of the most impressive wedding food I’ve had the pleasure of seeing (and tasting!). The Yardspace team certainly know what they’re doing when it comes to serving up a feast.
Elegant and romantic wedding photography at Old Gore Barn
Situated in the village of Calmsden in the heart of the Cotswolds, Old Gore Barn by Yardspace is as pretty as a picture. The barn itself has an undoubtedly modern feel whilst perfectly maintaining its original features. The exposed beams combine with large, contemporary Crittall-style doors to create a truly exceptional space. It was no wonder Courtney and Jacob knew it was the place for them to say yes to forever!
Relaxed and romantic wedding photography in the Cotswolds
Courtney and Jacob’s wedding was nothing short of incredible. I especially enjoyed the moment of intimacy the couple included. Instead of exchanging their personalised vows in the ceremony, they chose to read them to each during a first look in the morning. A really lovely moment.
The ceremony itself was an intimate affair. With around 50 guests, the couple chose to ask only their nearest and dearest to watch them tie the knot. Their wider network of friends joined them to celebrate during the afternoon and evening.
Sunset wedding photography at Yardspace
As the sun went down over the Cotswold hills, we took a wander to capture some showstopping sunset portraits. This summer the golden hours have been few and far between, but it felt like fate that this Caribbean duo were treated to a real beauty.
Champagne pop and wedding flash portraits
After dark we ended Courtney and Jacob’s coverage with some fun, editorial flash portraits. Courtney changed into a killer jumpsuit and the couple popped a bottle of champagne. It certainly was the perfect way to round off the day.
The whole vibe of the day was so relaxed and romantic, with such beautiful elegance and detail. Thank you for trusting me to it for you Courtney and Jacob, it was a pleasure!
