A Winter Wasing Park Estate Wedding
As a Wasing Park wedding photographer, I couldn’t wait for Lucy and Stuart’s big day to roll around. Oh boy was it worth the wait! Their elegant, timeless celebration was simply incredible from start to finish. It was my first time photographing a wedding at the wonderful Wasing Estate during the winter, and it really didn’t disappoint!
I first met Lucy and Stuart when I captured their friends’ wedding the summer prior. That June Cotswolds wedding was a completely different vibe to the winter wedding day that Lucy and Stuart planned. Each was utterly beautiful in completely different ways.
Elegant and timeless wedding photography at Wasing Park Estate
Situated in the heart of the Berkshire countryside, Wasing Park is as pretty as a picture. In their own words, the estate is ‘a quintessentially English setting, full of sophistication and elegance’. It’s no wonder Lucy and Stuart knew it was the place for them to say yes to forever!
Lucy and Stuart chose to style the day with elegant florals and timeless touches. They undoubtedly did an incredible job and everything looked just beautiful. The bridesmaid wore champagne dresses, with the grooms party in tails. A perfect combination for a wedding wedding.
Lucy, of course, stole the show. She looked nothing short of spectacular in her princess-style gown with delicate detailing. She really did take everyone’s breath away.
Winning the winter wedding weather lottery
After a week of unpredictable forecasts, Lucy and Stuart absolutely won the winter wedding weather jackpot. The downpours from the day before cleared and left cold, crisp November skies. An overcast day is an absolute dream for wedding photography and offers the most flattering light. Needless to say I was certainly a very happy photographer!
Lucy and Stuart exchanged wedding vows in the Wasing Park church. It’s a beautiful, intimate church in the ground of the Wasing Estate. It’s striking white colour looked spectacular against the backdrop of the golden autumnal trees.
Following the ceremony, the wedding party and their guests enjoyed a drinks reception in the venue’s Garden Room. It was a wonderfully relaxed occasion, with plenty of laughter and chatting.
Relaxed and romantic wedding photography in Berkshire
We made the most of the beautiful, overcast lighting for Lucy and Stuart’s newlywed couple’s portraits. The cold, crisp winter day even gifted them an elusive November sunset – the DREAM! Lucy and Stuart chose this point of their day to exchange their private vows. They opted to not say them in front of guests during the ceremony. Instead, wanting a more intimate setting. It was a lovely moment, and a beautifully private alternative.
The couple rounded off the day with the most epic first dance! By the end of Taylor Swift’s Love Story the whole wedding was on the dancefloor singing at the top of their lungs! The good vibes didn’t end there, their chosen wedding band brought so much fun and energy. The dancefloor went so wild.
Wedding day champagne spray
After dark we ended Lucy and Stuart’s wedding coverage with some fun. A champagne spray! It took a few attempts but the couple absolutely nailed it and the results are brilliant! It certainly was the perfect way to round off the day.
What Lucy said:
“Oh my goodness. Chloë! We cannot tell you how much we adore your photos. We cried so much looking through them. We’re genuinely so speechless. You’ve blown us away!”
What Stuart said:
“Chloë 🥹 I know Lucy just messaged you but I wanted to echo her sentiments. It was just the MOST amazing day and I can’t put into words how much of a part of it you were. You feature in so many of my core memories from the day and you really helped to make it. The photos…. Well they speak for themselves. We obviously got slightly lucky with the weather, but you absolutely smashed it. I know I may be slightly biased but I GENUINLY think they may be the best photos I’ve ever seen. And I can’t believe how well you managed to capture our mood. Every photo I see I remember exactly how we felt and that’s so unbelievably special. Thank you so, so much”
The whole vibe of the wedding day was relaxed and romantic, with such beautiful elegance and detail. Lucy and Stuart, I can’t tell you how much of a pleasure it was to capture your wedding day at Wasing Park. It was evident that you have so much love and joy for each other and for your loved ones.
