Reading Wedding Photographer at the Roseate Hotel
When Anna and Sam first told me about their plans to marry on the tenth anniversary of becoming a couple, I just knew their day was going to blow me away! As a Reading wedding photographer, the Roseate Hotel wasn’t a venue I’d shot at before. But it’s definitely one I’d like to shoot at again!
Anna and Sam had planned a beautifully intimate day, surrounded by around 30 of their closest family members. They were married in a ceremony at the Reading Town Hall followed this with a reception at the Roseate Hotel.
An intimate wedding day
The couple had chosen to make their day a more intimate affair, but that certainly didn’t mean that it was any less special. If anything, Anna and Sam’s day had more meaningful touches and thoughtful gestures than most I’ve had the pleasure of witnessing. From personalised vows that brought the room to tears, to a cake handmade by Anna’s sister, to a neon sign personalised with their new married surname – these two had thought of it all!
Anna’s bridal details were simply exquisite. She coupled delicate jewellery with a beaded veil – borrowed from her sister to fulfil that well-known tradition of course! Her something blue was beautifully embellished wording on the bottom of her heels. As for her gown, well the photos speak for themself. I think I may have audibly gasped aloud when I first saw it hanging in the bridal suite!
Relaxed wedding photography in Reading
In true British summertime style, the day had almost every type of weather under the sun! We had torrential downpours, gale force winds, blazing sunshine and everything in between! But do you think this phased our bride and groom? Of course not! They took it all in their stride and had the most fabulous day.
As a wedding photographer, I tend to say a discreet farewell to the bride and groom and head on my way. This time though, I was just more than a little touched when Anna and Sam followed me out of the room and gave me two red envelopes – a symbol of happiness and luck in Chinese culture. I feel so honoured that they’d considered me in this special part of their day.
Anna and Sam’s day went by in a flash and I was genuinely sad to leave – but equally I was floating on cloud nine after what was a truly wonderful wedding! It’s one that I’ll remember for a long time to come.
I wish Anna and Sam all the love and happiness in the world. Here’s to the next 10 years!
