A timeless, romantic wedding at Orchardleigh Estate, Somerset
As an Orchardleigh Estate wedding photographer, I was so excited for Kate and Mike’s big day! And what a day it was! It was undoubtedly the perfect blend of elegance, fun and joy. Exactly the kind of day that reminds me exactly why I love what I do.
Set in the heart of the Somerset countryside, Orchardleigh Estate is one of those venues that just feels timeless. The long driveway, grand architecture and manicured grounds, it all certainly creates an impressive backdrop. It was no wonder that Kate and Mike knew it was the perfect wedding venue for them.
A stylish wedding aisle walk
Kate and Mike brought together their British and Dutch roots perfectly. Guests travelled from near and far to celebrate with them. The atmosphere was full of excitement and love, and not to mention more than a little touch of style! The groomsmen were in black tie, with Mike in a classic white tux – stunning! One of favourite moments was the guys walking down the aisle to greet their groom – something that all weddings should do in my opinion!
Kate chose to wear a stunning lace gown with incredible sleeve detail. She looked absolutely radiant. When she revealed her final look to her loved ones, they were understandably speechless!
A personalised celebrant wedding ceremony at Orchardleigh House
Their celebrant-led ceremony was one of my all-time favourites to photograph. It was so personal and heartfelt, and centred on the things that mean the most to them. There were moments of laughter, a few tears and so many smiles — exactly what a wedding ceremony should be.
It’s always special when couples make their ceremony their own. You could feel how much thought Kate and Mike had put into every detail.

Everything about their wedding day styling was elegant and classic. They chose soft neutral tones, classic florals and subtle details that suited the venue perfectly. As a wedding photographer with a timeless and romantic style, it complemented my work beautifully.
Their whole day full of so much love and laughter. From the personal touches dotted throughout the décor, to the heartfelt speeches, to the signature shots enjoyed by guests later in the evening. By the time the dance floor opened, everyone was fully in the spirit (and I may have been dancing behind the camera too!).
