Summertime English garden wedding in Dorset
As a luxury UK wedding photographer I absolutely adore an English garden wedding. There’s something very special about embracing the best of British to celebrate your big day. Georgia and Brad’s September wedding did just that – and I can’t wait to share this with you!
Looking at the images, you’d be forgiven for thinking Georgia and Brad’s wedding took place in the heart of Tuscany. It was, in fact, right here in England’s beautiful Dorset.
From Australia with love
Whilst originally from the UK, Georgia and Brad now live in in Australia. However for them, England was the only place they dreamed of when planning their luxury wedding day. Surrounded by their nearest and dearest, they tied the knot in a private Dorset home, overlooking the picturesque river Stour. The home had touches of Italian inspiration, with a courtyard that could’ve been straight out of the Mediterranean.
I met Georgia on the wedding morning where she was getting ready with her Mum and bridesmaids. The ladies were happily sipping champagne and nibbling breakfast. They were a vision of elegance; a theme that continued throughout the day. I popped over to see the gents who were getting ready in another part of the house. They’d chosen a black tie theme (my fave!), with sophisticated touches throughout. They looked so stylish and took on the heatwave admirably!
An elegant, luxury English wedding day
Georgia first told me about her vision for an elegantly styled outdoor English garden wedding back when we initially spoke. We’d been praying for the weather to be kind ever since! We weren’t quite expecting the hottest day of the year though. At 34 degrees it’s fair to say that they’d brought the aussie sunshine with them!
When it came to her own styling Georgia knew exactly the look she wanted. Her fitted gown with thigh high split wouldn’t have been out of place on the red carpet, and she looked every bit the Hollywood star.
Summer may have arrived late but this scorcher of a September day perfectly suited the couple’s plans. They held their English garden wedding ceremony in the grounds of the home, beautifully styled with elaborate floral décor in an elegant neutral colour palette.
Outdoor English wedding with romantic styling
The space was then transformed into a romantic outdoor English garden wedding table, with romantic styling, elegant touches and luxury details. Guests enjoyed listening to the heartfelt speeches as they sipped champagne as the sun started to go down.
Before the first dance, I stole the couple away for some amazing, romantic golden hour wedding photos. The Dorset countryside home was perfectly positioned to capture the amazing glow as the sun went down over the river in the background.
The warm summer evening even meant that their first dance could take place on the back lawn of the luxury Dorset home, overlooking the river at sunset. It was a truly romantic wedding moment.
Georgia and Brad’s English garden wedding day was one that I’ll fondly look back on for a very long time. I wish you both an amazing honeymoon and safe travels as you head home to Australia. It was an honour to capture your big day for you.
