Bury Court Barn Wedding – Kerry & Paul

A Winter wedding at Bury Court Barn, Hampshire

By the time Kerry and Paul’s Bury Court Barn wedding came around, it felt like I’d known them forever! We’d only met in person two months beforehand when we’d got together for their engagement shoot, but we’d clicked immediately. I was so exciting when their December wedding at Bury Court Barn came around.

The morning of the big day was drizzly and grey, but that didn’t dappen anyone’s spirits. Bridal prep at Bury Court Barn was full of excitement for the day ahead. Kerry took a few moments away from her four bridesmaids to privately open a gift from her husband-to-be. Paul had chosen a pearl necklace to perfectly match the rest of this winter bride’s accessories – a delicate pearl bracelet and showstopping pearl-embroidered veil. I absolutely love it when brides chosen to make a statement with their accessories, and this veil was just that!

Personalised wedding stationery and intricate details

I took some time during the morning to capture the couple’s wedding stationery. Not only had they designed personalised vow books for the ceremony, but they’d also handwritten a letter to each other to be opened on the morning of the wedding, and sealed it with a monogrammed wax stamp. This level of detail is something I truly adore capturing. Wedding couples spend so much time planning small details like this, so I always make sure to photograph them beautifully. It’s part of their love story.

Hobson, Kerry and Paul’s fun-loving golden retriever played a starring role at the ceremony. I’d met him at their Autumn engagement shoot, and the couple were so excited to tell me that he was going to be their ring bearer. He did not disappoint! As far as I’m concerned, all weddings should feature our furry family members!

Usually it might be the bride who has an outfit change – but not on this occasion! Being a Navy officer, Paul wanted his uniforms to play an important role in the day. Following the ceremony, he changed into more relaxed attire for the reception part of the day.

A Winter wedding reception to remember

The reception really made the most of the fun winter wedding photo opportunities on offer. We had a champagne tower, prosecco spray, steamy flash portraits and sparkler exit! It just goes to prove that no matter the weather or the time of the year, we can always achieve incredible photos.

Kerry and Paul, your wedding will stay in my heart for a very long time to come. Thank you so much for trusting me to capture your special day.
