Wedding Photography at Audleys Wood Hotel, Basingstoke
Every wedding is wonderful, but as one of the first ever couples to book me as their wedding photographer, Becky and Kane’s big day was always going to hold a special place in my heart. What’s more, as an Audleys Wood wedding photographer, I was delighted that they’d chosen such a beautiful Basingstoke venue.
Being a 10-minute drive from my home, Audleys Wood hotel is somewhere I’ve had the pleasure of spending a lot of time over the years! With it’s showstopping ceremony conservatory, dedicated garden pavilion reception area and beautiful landscaped grounds, the 19th century Hampshire mansion makes for a magnificent wedding venue.
The Wedding Morning
On the morning of the wedding I met Becky in the Jane Austin Suite where she was getting ready with her Mum, Mum-in-law-to-be and bridesmaids. Becky is a woman after my own heart and was all over the planning. Her solid organisation of course meant that the bridal party was able to have a wonderfully relaxed morning. In fact, I’d never seen a calmer bridal prep suite! As a result, the girls even had time for some fun, relaxed photos sipping prosecco on the bed in their robes.
Meanwhile, Kane and his Groom’s party were hard at work setting up the venue. The couple had gone all out on their rock and roll theme with table decorations handmade from CD cases, a guestbook created with old vinyl discs and a guitar case as their cards’ box. It set the tone for their day – relaxed and a lot of fun!
Wedding in the Conservatory and Garden Pavilion at Audleys Wood
Following the ceremony in the showstopping conservatory, we took a stroll around the grounds of Audleys Wood, picking a few gorgeous spots for their portraits. It was then on to the garden pavilion for the speeches, wedding breakfast and all important dancefloor!
Of course, I can’t write this blog without giving a special mention to Aaron – Kane’s brother and best man. Aaron wrote and performed his best man’s speech as a song! It was certainly one of the most unique and special things I’ve ever seen at a wedding.
I wish Becky and Kane all the love and happiness in the world – happy honeymooning in the Caribbean!
